The life of PI.

One final lasting step after another. My run down feet slowly and gently sink into the sand. I crumble down to my knees. The soothing warmth of the sand drifts me of to a sudden sleep.

The rabbit proof fence
Ice cold rain travels down my half caste face. Our footprints have been washed away. Myself and Daisy hide behind a one hundred foot tall palm tree. Frustrated, confused and worried. We can’t hear nothing but the horrifying sound of thunder cracking above us.

My heart aches of exhaustion. Thoughts and worries clash in and out through my mind. The one thing that keeps me going is the thought of being back with my parents. We will follow the fence. Hope and courage will push us back home.

My legs ache in pain. The sound of twigs snapping. The body warmth of my sister warms up my heart. Looking up spotting the hawk that follows me and keeps me safe through my journey. Daisy lets go of my grazed hand and runs. I look back down and see my mother standing one hundred metres away from me. My heart sinks back into my chest as I finally feel at home. She squeezes me tight a tear rolls down my face. I'm home. I'm finally home.

The waves crash and burn. Ducking under each wave waiting for the perfect wave. Paddling mightily with every stroke of my arm. Smooth long strokes. Sitting with patients as the perfect wave rises, paddling, digging with speed. “whoo, hoo” shouts the crowd.
As there is only 3 surfers left.
slowly and steadily standing. I raised. I'm gliding along the water.
The wave shapes into a tube and I am inside. This is the type of waves that all surfers dream about, being inside a wave tube. Never wanting to escape. Crystal blue water shrouds around me. Reaching my hand out as it skims against the water. A peek of light opens at the end of the tube. The ride is over, as the wave collapse. As I come out as a winner.
